A letter box closure comprises a flap 7 pivotally supported on the aperture frame 1 by pins 9 entering lugs 8 at the top ends of the flap, each lug being a cam with two adjacent flat faces 15, 16 connected by a rounded corner 20 coacting with a leaf spring 17 riveted to the frame at 18 and acting through a frame opening 19 to press on the face 15 when the flap is open, to exert frictional drag on the corner 20 as it closes and to press on face 16 when closed.
