Abstract

1,012,965. Hinges. W. GOLDSWORTHY, Oct. 11, 1962 [Nov. 16, 1961], No. 41027/61. Heading E2F. A hinge for connecting a cover 3 to a floor duct comprises a first leaf 6 integral with or arranged for attachment to the cover and a second leaf 7 permanently but displaceably connected to a fastening plate 11 by means of a plurality of pin and slot connections 9, 10 which allow a limited degree of free relative movement of the leaf in facial contact with the plate. The plate is arranged to be directly attached to a floor member 5 by screws accessible through apertures 12 in the second leaf. The hinge enables the cover and hinge barrels to lie flush with the floor surface when the cover is closed whilst enabling the cover to be opened through 180 degrees.
