Abstract

1,077,838. Over-centre spring hinges. V. ASQUINI. Aug. 28, 1964, No. 35408/64. Heading E2F. A hinge for furniture doors or the like the components of which are spring urged to hold the door in its two limit positions, fully open and closed comprises two support members A and B for attachment to the door and door frame and connected together by links 18, 36 pivoted to the members A and B at 20, 32 and 28, 40 respectively. Spring means C comprising a coil spring 10 in a housing 12 is attached to a cross member 16 of the link 18 and to the member A at 14, in such a manner as to bias the hinge to the open (Fig. 1) or closed (Fig. 3) positions. In another embodiment (Fig. 8) the spring means C acts between member B and an extension (84) of one of the links (36b). Further the lower pivots of the links (18b, 36b) are attached to a support (70) adjustable with respect to the member A by screws (76) engaging in slots.
