Abstract

1,089,712. Draught excluders. A. M. DE JONG A.B. March 25, 1965 [April 8, 1964], No. 12719/65. Heading E1J. In a bottom edge seal or draught and weather excluder for doors &c. jamb-operated by a push-rod 7 in the closed position of the door the sealing strip 6 of resilient tubular rubber is slidably contoured in an inverted U-section mounting bar 1 to which it is pivotally connected by a central obliquely arranged link 11 pivoted by simple pivot pins 3, 13, to the bar 1 and sealing holder bar 5 of U-section to which the strip 6 is glued &c, and by outer parallel links 12 connected to the bar 1 by slot and pin connections 3, 12" and to the seal strip holder bar 5 by slot and pin connections 13, 12', and biased against the pins 3, 13 by tension springs 14 connected between the link 12 and the holder bar 5, so that the sealing strip as a whole can adjust itself to the unevenness of the floor &c. and the tubular sealing strip can accommodate local recesses in the floor. Additional links such as 10 and 12 may be provided on either side of the link 11.
