Abstract

1421041 Hinges PAUL HETTICH & CO 9 Aug 1973 [11 Aug 1972] 37858/73 Heading E2F A hinge, particularly suitable for mounting a glass door 20 to an article of furniture (not shown), comprises a hinge arm 1 for connection to the article and a hinge member formed in two parts 5, 6 which embrace the edge of the door; the first part 5 being pivoted at 4 to the arm 1 and carrying a projection 19 having a cylindrical portion 22 and a rectangular portion 21 which extends in use into a corresponding recess in the door, and the second part 6 being secured by screws 7, 8 to the first part. The arm 1 is provided with a projection 9 which engages a spring biased cylinder 10 on the first part 5 to hold the door in its closed position. The cylinder 10 is mounted on a pin 12 slidable in slots 13 and biassing springs are concealed within the part 5 and can be adjusted by screws 17 (Fig. 3, not shown). The hinge is preferably formed from plastics material.
