In a window having a fixed frame 1 and sashes 2, 3 of which sash 2 is pivotable about an axis x-x passing through pivots 4, 5 and slidable in its own plane the sash rests on a runway on lower member 7 and is guided by pins 10...13 engaged in grooves in members 6, 7 the sash consisting of tubular members 19...22 interconnected by members such as member 23 (Fig. 6) carrying a pin 10, and having extensions 24, 25 of cross-section shape corresponding to the tubular members and having tapped holes 29 to receive fixing screws 30. The pins 11, 12 are constituted by the ends of a locking rod 14. In another embodiment (Fig. 10) a sash 50 is pivotable about an axis y-y and is connected to the fixed frame 51 by pivots in two parts 52, 53 the upper part, having a cup 55 to engage a cup 61 on the lower part.
