A jointed-folding stay for casement windows comprises two plates B joined by a clamping screw C or other lockable pivotal joint and two hinge pins B2 each of which is bent at right angles to form two portions on one of which the free end of one of the plates B is pivoted and the other of which is adapted for fixing to the window stile or frame. The hinge pins may be riveted or welded to a metal window frame or screwed (as shown) into a wooden one. The abutting faces B1 of the plates B may be serrated or provided with a shake-proof washer.
