Abstract

907,837. Hinges; window fasteners. CODE DESIGNS Ltd. Jan. 30, 1961 [Jan. 29, 1960; Sept. 19, 1960], Nos. 3237/60 and 32113/60. Classes 44 and 65 (2). A window hinge unit comprises a member 1 adapted to be secured to the inside of a window sash, a stay 2 and a link 3 pivoted to opposite ends of the member, and swivel means for connecting the stay and link to a window frame at positions remote from the member, either or both of the co-operating surfaces in the region of the pivotal connections between the member and the link and stay being cam surfaces. Either or both of the swivel means may be a friction swivel adjustable by a nut 8, and may include a nylon washer. A fastening (Fig. 4) is provided comprising an arm 10 pivotally connected to the sash and co-operating with a lug 12 on the frame to hold the window closed, as shown, or in one or more slightly ajar positions, slots 14 being formed for this purpose.
