Abstract

880,552. Hinges and pivots. DORMAN & SMITH Ltd. June 9, 1960 [July 2, 1959], No. 22724/59. Class 65(2). A hinge pin 10 is U-shaped in plan, one arm 11 being screw-threaded at its end for securing to a door and the end 12 of the other arm being turned down at right angles to the plane of the U and rotatably received in an aperture in a fixing bracket 13. According to the Provisional Specification, the arm 11 may be secured to the door by means of a hexagon bush on one side of the door tapped to take the threaded end of the pin and a special headed screw on the other side. The hinge is intended for attachment to the front cover plate of an electrical switchboard whereby the plate may be converted into a door.
