Abstract

911,559. Hinges and pivots. TURNER, B. J. Aug. 30, 1961 [Sept. 20, 1960], No. 32254/60. Class 65 (2). A single-action door hinge comprises a strap 3 adapted to be fixed horizontally to the door frame and carrying a fixed vertical hinge pin 7 offset from the longitudinal centre line of the strap and a face plate 8 with a right-angled flange 9 at one end adapted to be fixed vertically to the face of the door and carrying a projecting socket member 12 formed with a vertical bore 13 offset from the outer surface of the face plate to receive the hinge pin, the socket member being longitudinally adjustable on the face plate. The socket member has a neck 14 which passes through a longitudinal slot 15 in the face plate and is provided with a tapped hole engaged by an adjusting screw 16 which may be locked by a grub screw 20. In a modification the socket member is located at the very end of the face plate 8 and the neck 14 extends from one end of the member or from a lateral extension thereof.
