Abstract

623,670. Hinges. WEIDELSTAM, G. A., (formerly JANSSON, G. A.). May 9, 1947, No. 12595. Convention date, June 1, 1943. [Class 65 (ii)] A hinge which is adjustable both laterally and axially is characterised in that at least one hinge member is provided with two sleeves relatively displaceable to each other the inner sleeve 3 being rigidly connected to, and the outer sleeve 6 being movable relatively to a mounting adapted to be secured to a frame. The said mounting comprises a fixed plate 5 and a plate 4 movable relatively thereto in a direction at right angles to the hinge pin 8. The latter plate is fixed to the inner sleeve and passes through a slot in the outer sleeve. The hinge pin, which is screwed into the inner sleeve and is adapted to effect axial displacement of the outer sleeve, carries the sleeve 1 of an upper plate 2 adapted to be secured to a door. Sleeve 1 rests on a ball bearing 10 and is fitted with a stopper 11. Lateral adjustment of the hinge is effected by rotating a washer 16 which is eccentrically mounted on the plate 5 and is polygonal in shape, the sides of the washer engaging an aperture in the plate 4.
