[Also in Group X] An adjustable guard gate comprises panels, e.g. three, 10, 13, 14 hinged together at 15, 16 and each formed of a metal frame 11, 11a, 11b with a wire mesh 12, 12a, 12b welded thereto in criss-cross fashion, adjustable pressure-contact members 17 ... 19 mounted on the outer vertical sides of the gate and being free to turn relatively thereto and having rubber pads 20, and means for moving the members 17 ... 19 to contact the sides D of the space in which the gate is to be fitted. The members 17 ... 19 comprise brackets 17 clipped at 18 to the appropriate frames, e.g. 11a, Fig. 6, to be rotatable about a vertical axis, the brackets 17 each carrying a pair of cup members 19 fitted with rubber pads 20. The brackets 17 are fixed respectively to one end of a threaded rod 23 and to a tube 21 in which the rod 23 passes freely. Rotation of a nut 24 on the rod 23 against the free end of the tube 21 forces the rod 23 outwardly to press the members 17 . . . 19 against the surfaces D. A single elongated member may replace each pair of cups 19, and two panels only may be used, see Fig. 3 (not shown).
