Abstract

642,484. Hinges. FOX, J. E., and FOX, A. W. May 25, 1948, No. 14090. [Class 65(ii)] A hinged fitting for a closet seat comprises a pair of onepiece L-shaped brackets 15 which support a hinge pin 10 adapted to be engaged between' the brackets by lugs 1 on the seat. The brackets are also provided with slots 17 adapted to be engaged by bolts 18 securing the brackets to lugs 19 on the pan, and the slotted parts are provided with inverted box-like covers 23 for enclosing the heads of the bolts. The hinge pin is secured in position by screws 12 received in the tapped ends of the hinge pin. In a modification the bolt 18 is replaced by a screw carrying a nut, the sides of which engage the sides of the cover. In a further modification the hinge p:n is made in two parts.
