Abstract

1,044,898. Door hinges. ARTURO SALICE S.p.A. June 22, 1964 [June 25, 1963; Nov. 25, 1963], No. 25724/64. Heading E2F. An articulated door hinge comprises hinge members 11 and 12, which are connected by links 13 and 14 pivotally mounted on pins 17, 18 and 15, 16 respectively and a spring element 34 which urges the door to the closed position, except when the door is in the vicinity of the open position when the spring element becomes inoperative thereby preventing the door from "slamming open". One or more spring elements may be used and alternatively to the form shown, leaf springs may be used. The spring elements may be encased to exclude dust and to provide a reservoir for lubricant.
