Abstract

1408773 Hinges BLOXWICH LOCK & STAMPING CO Ltd 19 Dec 1973 [17 Oct 1972] 47787/72 Heading E2F In a combined hinge and hold open device having two hinge leaves 1, 2 pivotally connected together by a hinge pin 3, the first of the hinge leaves I is provided with a spring- loaded arm 12 pivoted to the leaf 1 about an axis parallel to the hinge pin axis, the other hinge leaf 2 being provided with an abutment 17 spaced from the axis of the hinge pin 3 and engaging with a cam face formed with two spaced recesses 18 and 19 on the arm. The spring loading on the arm 12 takes the form of a coiled torsion spring 7 fitted over the hinge pin 3 with one end 10 of the spring acting to provide a force on the arm ,12 and the other end 8 reacting against the first hinge leaf 1.
