Abstract

836,359. Push-pull catches; stops for hinged articles. SPEGELSTEIN & SON Ltd., S. May 1, 1957 [April 10, 1956], No. 10951/56. Classes 44 and 65(1) Cabinet door fastening means comprises a stay 1, the opposite ends of which are adapted to be respectively pivotally secured to the door 3 and an inner wall of the cabinet, and a pair of relatively movable complementary leaf springs 4, 12 either arranged on the stay so that they interengage to hold the door in fully closed position or arranged on the stay so that they interengage to hold the door in fully opened position. To hold the door closed the blade spring 4 is fixed to the end of the stay which is pivoted to the door and the blade spring 12 is carried by a collar 6 through which the stay 1 can slide, the collar 6 being pivoted to a bracket 9 secured to the inner wall of the cabinet. The collar 6 is formed in two parts which are secured together by rivets with rubber friction washers 7 interposed between the two parts. The free end of the stay is formed with a stop 15 against which the collar 6 abuts when the door is fully opened to limit the movement of the door. To fasten the docr in the open position the blade spring 4 is attached to the stay at the end remote from a bracket 2 to which the stay is pivoted and the ends of the two blade springs are arranged to face each other so that they can inter-engage.
