Abstract
800,579. Catch fastenings. FERROPRODUKTER AKTIEBOLAGET. Oct. 6, 1955, No. 28479/55. Class 44 A catch mechanism for a door of a cupboard, wardrobe or the like comprises a catch plate 2 swingably mounted on a frame 3 between two extreme positions and spring biased to one or other of said positions according to the direction in which the plate is urged over a dead-centre position in the action of opening or closing the door, the plate being snapped over by co-operating with abutting means 5 including a substantially U-shaped member in which one limb 15 is shorter than the other 16, the shorter limb providing a clearance for the catch plate and the longer limb snapping the catch plate over into engagement with the shorter limb when the door is shut, the shorter limb snapping the catch plate over to the released position when the door is subsequently opened. Movement of the plate is limited by recesses 11 in the sides 9 of the frame 3 which engage the upper edges of recesses in the plate 2. Catch plate 3 is of generally U-shaped outline, the biasing spring 13 being mounted between the limbs.
