To enable the door 8 of the grill compartment of a domestic cooking stove to lie close to the front panel 2 of the stove and to an adjacent oven door 7 when in the closed position and to remain clear of them during the opening movement, it is provided with a hinge comprising a first link 10 pivoted at its ends about axes 16, 20 fixed relative to the door and panel, respectively, and a second link 11 pivoted at one end about an axis 17 fixed relative to the door and mounted for guided rectilinear motion relative to the panel. Guide pins 21 on the panel engage a closed slot 13 in the link 11 and also restrict its travel, and a stop 23 on the panel abuts the link 10 to limit the opening of the door. The pins 21 can be replaced by a single elongated member. In the open position, the door lies flush with the base of the grill compartment and may support a grill pan.
