Abstract

1289760 Releasable fastenings; hinges METZENAUER & JUNG GmbH 4 Dec 1970 [5 Dec 1969] 57803/70 Headings E2A and E2F A sheet metal box 1 to which a cover 2 may be releasably attached either by screws 9 entering a threaded hole in a plate 10 at each corner of the box, or by hinge attachments each comprising a curved piece 15 secured to cover 2 and carrying a pivoting spring-loaded hook member 26 which engages beneath an angle member 13 secured at each corner to the underside of a recessed edge round the rim of box 1. The hinge attachments are placed along one edge of the cover to form a door closure. Plate 10 may be turned through 180‹ to align shaped apertures in each plate with turnbuckles which replace screws 9. The recessed edge is constructed with a channel to receive a sealing cord 8.
