Abstract

1,093,512. Hinges and pivots; glass doors. TONKS (BIRMINGHAM) Ltd. April 14, 1965 [April 23, 1964], No. 16812/64. Headings E1J and E2F. A patch fitting for a glass door or panel has two parts, e.g. 12, secured together by screws 14, 19 to clamp the glass there between. The glass has an arcuate recess 15, engaged by a corresponding surface 16 on the fitting, and a hole 17, intersecting recess 15, for screw 19. The two parts each have a rectangular flange (shown in dotted lines) to clamp the glass and may be provided with either a pivot or a lock in space 11. Cover plates 22 on either side of the door engage in grooves in the fittings to cover the fittings and extend along the edge of the door, as described and claimed in Specification 1,093,513.
