[Class 65 (ii)] A hinge, particularly for vehicle doors designed to prevent sagging, comprises a pair of leaves, a slide movable parallel to one leaf and transversely to the hinge axis, the other leaf being hinged to the slide and to an auxiliary leaf hinged to the first leaf. In the form illustrated, the parts being shown in the open position, a leaf 4 let into the edge of the door post has guide channels 12 for a slide 11, to the end of which is hinged at 10 a projecting lug 9 on a leaf 6 fixed in the edge of the door. The lug 9 extends beyond the hinge 10, and the end of its extension 23 is hinged to one end of an auxiliary leaf or link 19 hinged at its other end to the back of the leaf 4 and working in a recess in the door post. The parts are so arranged that in the open position shown the link 19 engages between two ribs 17 on the back of the leaf 4 and the extension 23 of lug 9 engages a recess 24 in the slide 11, so that no sagging of any member can take place ; in the closed position the link 19 supports the lug 9 at a distance behind the slide 11. The leaf 6 is slotted at 14 to allow the lug 9 to be bent slightly relatively to the leaf to adjust the position of the door relative to the post. The face of the door preferably has a flange which covers the hinge in the closed position.
