332,093. Aldam, E. H. Aug. 9, 1929. Sliding doors.-Vertically sliding folding doors comprise leaves a, a<1> - - a<3> guided in the jambs by rollers &c. b on axles fixed to angles or channels in the leaves at the middle or alternate edges. The door is counterbalanced by weights y or springs z, and cables attached to the roller pivots of the lowest leaf. The top leaf may be half the depth of the others and the roof is preferably extended to cover the projecting part of the folded door. Sliding or pivoted spring-controlled flaps may cover the meeting edges of door and frame and may be automatically moved away by the door when opening. Means are preferably provided to throw the hinging points of the leaves out of alignment on the first opening movement, such as a projecting pin &c. h on the lowest leaf and a corresponding guide on the jamb.
