Abstract

466,466. Sliding doors. POSCHUNG, W. Nov. 2, 1936, No. 29761. [Class 20 (iii)] One of two half-sections of a sliding door, 1, is movable on upper and lower guide-rails 3, 2, extending across the opening, while the second 1a is supported on pivoted arms 10, 11, attached to the guides 8, 9, and is thereby adapted to lie in the plane of the other section when closed and to be displaced transversely to the plane of the door to permit opening &c. The arms 10, 11 are spring-controlled to force the section 1a into the plane of the other, rollers 16, 17 being provided which engage frame parts 18, 19 when shut and rails 14, 15 on the section 1 during opening. The ends of the rails 14, 15 are bevelled to cause the transverse displacement of the section 1a during initial opening. The levers 10, 11 may have a common pivot rod to equalize their movement.
