Abstract

475,263. Sliding doors. LEHWESS, E. E. Aug. 13, 1937, No. 22293. Convention date, Dec. 3, 1936. [Class 20 (iii)] A sliding door of the kind which lies below the ceiling when opened and is guided by two pairs of rails, one pair extending upwardly on each side of the opening and the second pair extending inwardly at right-angles above the opening and having downwardly curved extensions, has one pair of rollers 5 engaging the vertical guides and situated at the lower edge and one or more pairs of rollers 7 engaging the remaining rails. The Figure shows a door comprising three leaves in the open position the rollers 7, 71, 7<11>, provided at the pivots of the leaves all engaging the horizontal rails 8. The door is balanced by spring 13 and cable 9 connected to the lower edge of the door and led over pulleys 10, 11.
