Abstract
343,536. Sliding doors. ROTTENBURG, H., 5, Adams Road, Cambridge. Oct. 23, 1929, No. 32115. [Class 20 (iii).] A sliding door of the kind which is guided vertically and horizontally into an open position above the door opening has pins A<3> situated from half to two-thirds of its height from the bottom edge, engaging vertically guided blocks G<1>, and pins B3, situated near the top edge engaging horizontal guides C<1>. The door is balanced by weighted cords E<2> attached to the lower ends of the guided blocks G<1>, to provide for a lower position of the pulley D<1>. The guide pins B<3> may have rollers thereon and may be offset to the plane of the door. Two transversely movable strips L, Fig. 9, may be attached to the sides of the door by links M<6> and moved into grooves in the door frame by a suitable device such as links N<1>, N<2> and handle P, to close the openings at the edges and to hold the door closed. Sliding bolts may be provided to hold the door in the open position.
