Abstract

401,595. Sliding sashes in one plane ; window regulators. CHAUVET, G., 31, Avenue Simon Bolivar, Paris. April 28, 1933, No-12414. Addition to 387,606. [Class 20 (iii).] A window comprising sliding sashes as described in the parent Specification is provided with housing means for the opened sashes lying inside the wall opening and covered by a sliding plate 21 having horizontal actuating means 26 carrying spring- pressed fastening studs 29 entering the frame, Figs. 1 and 11. The plate 21 has curved ends engaging the sill and side of the box. A hinged top cover 17 is carried by the spindle of the cord pulley and allows the sashes to be raised above the closed position to facilitate closing of the cover 21 of the housing 6. The top sash is actuated by the spindle 1 thereon and leaf springs attached to a guided rod 35 having a handle 40. Stops consisting of weighted eccentrics 42, Fig. 10, adapted to enter recesses in the frame are provided on the spindle of the handle 40. The frame is recessed for the middle sash and for the spindles of its guide pulleys at 3<1> 19, 20 allowing a lateral displacement which permits raising the lower sash for cleaning. The sprocket wheel guides for the chains of the top sash are fast on the spindle 12, the wheels being free.
