Abstract

445,502. Hinges. CHOWN, W. R. B., and HILLS & SONS, Ltd., F., Norton Road, Stockton-on-Tees. March 20, 1935, No. 8753. [Class 65 (ii)] In a window hinge of the kind in which the hinge axis h is placed at some distance externally of the sash and one arm e of the hinge is attached to the external face of the sash and extends along it forward of the hinge, this arm is provided on its inner face with one or more projections to engage a recess or recesses in the sash so that the hinge arm cannot be swung back from the sash after the fixing screws have been removed The projections may be formed by studs, such as i in the form shown, riveted or screwed to the arm e, or ferrules attached by rivets or screws, or bosses cast on the arm, and may be of any desired section; they may pass completely through the sash.
