Windscreens.-Hinged pane's or flaps for use in connection with windscreens of vehicles are mounted on spring hinges, so that they can be pushed open and held automatically in any desired position and be closed when required by the spring that has been tensioned during the opening movement. A handle is provided for releasing the flap or panel, which then closes automatically, In the arrangement shown a panel 1 is hinged at 12, 13 in the wind-screen 7. The movable socket members 12 of the hinge carry rods with springs secured to the spindles and to the fixed part of the hinge. When the panel is pushed open, it is held in the opened position by a catch engaging with ratchet teeth, and the window is closed by the springs when the driver lowers a handoperated member to release the catch.
