Wind and like screens.-Two similar sets of two or three hinged glazed frames are provided on the sides of the body of a motor-vehicle, each set being pivotally supported on an arm pivoted to the body behind the front seats, so that they may be arranged along the sides to close the vehicle as shown in Fig. 5, or serve as a windscreen for the rear seats as shown in Fig. 4. The glazed frames 1, 3 of each set are hinged along a vertical side to the middle frame 2, and the pivoted arms a which may be telescopic, carry the sets at their ends pivotally about the hinged axis c. When used as a wind-screen the free ends of the frames 1 are attached together and when it is desired to convert an open carriage into a closed one, the frames are placed in the position shown in Fig. 5, the hinges between the frames 1, 2 and 2, 3 respectively being aligned with the hinges of the rear and front doors, the frames being attached to the sides and doors of the vehicle and a hood secured over them. The frame 3 may be arranged to slide over the frame 2, and a curtain of cloth or leather employed to stop the chinks between the frames and the vehicle.
