Windscreens.-In motor vehicles of the kind having flexible windows which are hinged to a pillar carried by a jointed arm so that thev can be used either as side windows or as windscreens and folded back into the vehicle when out of use, a combined foldable hood and window frame comprises a vertical front member, a vertical rear member hinged to the body by a link enabling it to be moved longitudinally of the vehicle, and a foldable horizontal member hinged to the rear member and adapted to be attached to the front member to complete the frame, the window sashes being connected to a hinge carried by the supporting pillar in an off-set position and means being provided to enable the sashes to clear the hood and body to enable them to be opened. The vehicle hood comprises a rear post 40, Figs. 1 and 2, carried by a hinged link 38, horizontal members 42, 44, and a front member 34, all of which form the frame for the windows when used as side screens. The windows are flexible and comprise sashes 24 and panes 25 and are detachable connected to a hinge 18, Fig. 4, by means of holts and pins 21, 22 passing through slots 20, 26 in the hinge flaps. The hinge 18 is mounted on a tube and provided with friction means for securing the windows in any relative position. The hinge is carried by a post 9 connected to the wehicle by links 4 6 hinged so that they may swing both horizontally and vertically. The post 9 is hollow and is provided with a spring- controlled screwed rod 13 which is adapted to engage with boss 14, Fig. 4, or 53, Fig. 1, according to whether the windows are arranged as side screens or w'nd screens. When used as wind screens, the overlapping portions of adjacent sashes are secured together by means of heads 55, Fig. 8. connected together by a cord 57 and provided with cross-pins 59 and turn buttons 58.
