Abstract

244,300. Austin, Sir H. Feb. 13, 1025. Wind-screens.-A wind-screen for the rear seats of a motor-vehicle, also adapted to be converted for use as side screens, comprises two panels a, Figs. 1 and 3, detachably mounted upon a pair of horiontal arms e, which are pivoted to a vertical standard D datachably carried in a socket or similar support E located at or near the centre of the forward edge of the rear seats. The lower edge of each panel a is provided with a number of pegs c adapted, when the panels form a transverse screen, to enter holes in the arms e and to be locked by screws g, or, when the panels form side screens, to enter holes on the sides of the body e.g. when the vehicle is to be closed in. In the latter position of the panels, the standard D and arms a, which are preferably foldable about pivots f, are removed from the socket E and placed in a second socket H located near the back of the front seat. and an apron F depending from the arms is folded up against or around the arms. Side extension screens b are preferably hinged to each of the panels a.
