531,577. Windows. PORSCHE, F. July 26, 1939, No. 21748. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1938. [Class 20 (iii)] A window for an automobile has the pane secured to the frame by part of the edge while the free part of the edge can be opened, the pane being elastically deformed. The pane 2 which is made of plastic glass or of transparent synthetic' material, for instance. that known under the Registered Trade Mark " Plexiglass " has one edge 1 secured to the flange 3 of the frame of the door front 4 by screws and bars with rubber strips 6 interposed. In the closed position, the pane 2 is acted upon by its initial stress or by leaf springs towards the flange 9 of the side wall 10, the flange being lined with rubber strip 11. The opening device comprises levers 13, 14 pivoted together at 12 of which the lever 13 is pivoted at 15 to the pane 2 while the lever 14 is pivoted at 17 to the side wall 10. The lever 13 is constructed as a leaf spring and is resilient in both directions along the line BB. The pivot 15 can be clamped to fix the window in any adjusted position. The handle 18 is shaped so that when in the dotted line position 2' the pane is secured.
