Abstract

325,725. Freeman, C. H. March 22, 1929. Stays.-A casement stay and fastener comprises a pivoted catch 3 secured to a bracket 1 on the window 2 and adapted to be rotated into engagement with a slot in a plate 4 on the frame 5 to secure the window in the closed position, and a pivoted handle 9 connected to the fastener and formed with a slot 10 for engagement with a pin 11 to provide a limited opening movement of the window. The pin 11 is engaged and disengaged from the stay through an enlarged slot 12, so that the window must first be closed before the stay can be disengaged from the stay-bar. The stay may be made longer for the purpose of retaining the window in an adjusted position in the ordinary manner.
