Double-door fastenings for securing the firstclosed wing, comprise a rod c in a vertical groove in the edge of the door with end catches k, l turned into operative position by a spring g and released by a push-button i in the edge of the door and carried on an arm e on the rod. When the second wing is closed and locked the button i for releasing the first-closed wing is rendered inaccessible. The top fastener k engages an abutment m on the door frame, Fig. 2, and the lower one l engages a pin p Fig. 4. Instead of the pin p a spring plunger s may be engaged by the hook l. In the latter case, the fastening can be put out of action by pressing down the plunger with the foot, a blade spring u causing a notch v to engage the plate r to hold the plunger out of the path of the hook l.
