March 16, 1931, No. 8060. [Class 44.1 A spring-pressed pawl 12 engages under the arm 6 of a casement fastener 4 to lock it. It is released by. means of a lever 11 actuated by a barrel lock 10a. In a modification, the pawl is gravity-controlled and engages in a notch on the boss of the fastener. The pawl may be adapted for direct operation by a lock key. A plate 16 covering the aperture 7 prevents picking.
