398,283. Emergency-exit fastenings. NEWMAN & SONS, Ltd., W. and SHEAD, H. C., 268, Hospital Street, Birmingham. April 27, 1932, No. 12024. [Class 44.] A panic bolt 1 of the usual type operated by a pivoted crush-bar is held withdrawn by a spring or gravityactuated pivoted catch 4 which engages with a hole 10 in, or a projection or shoulder on, the adjacent side of the bolt and is tripped by an abutment 13 on the door post when the door is closed. The catch may be used with either the upper or lower door bolt or with both.
