[Class 44] A fastening for double doors 1, 4 consists of a spring-actuated bolt 7 which holds the first door 4 to be closed, and a device 15, 13 actuated by the closure of the second door 1 to hold the bolt 7 in its engaged position. The bolts 7, 15 work in recesses in vertical plates and the bolt 7 snaps into locking position when the door 4 is closed. The ends of a rocking lever 13 work in cross passages in the bolts 7, 15 and the closure of the door 1 prevents the bolt 15 from moving downwards, so that the bolt 7 is maintained in its lower position. The lock 2 is then operated in the ordinary way. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, a pin 18 can slide inside the bolt 7 to enter a recess in the door 4. When the door 1 is closed, it presses the pin 15 upwards against the action of the spring 13<a>, and the rocking lever 13 depresses the pin 18.
