Abstract
390,952. Emergency-exit fastenings. NEWMAN & SONS, Ltd., W. and SHEAD, H. C., 268, Hospital Street, Birmingham. April 14, 1932, No. 10647. [Class 44.] In a panic bolt fastening, the links 4, which couple the bolts 1 to an operating disc 3 turning in the plane of the door or in a plane parallel thereto, move to or slightly past a dead centre position so that the bolts cannot be forced back from outside. The push-bar 7 carries an arm 11 which co-operates with a link 14 to turn the disc 3. In the fastening position, the inner end of the link 14 may abut against a segmental projection 16 on the casing 2 to limit the turning of the disc. The fastening may be operated from outside by a knob which can be locked or rendered inoperative by a key.
