Abstract

441,508. Sliding bolts. NEWMAN & SONS, Ltd., W., and ROLLASON, S. A., 268, Hospital Street, Birmingham. Sept. 6, 1934, No. 25626. [Class 44] A lever-operated flush bolt for doors &c. comprises a plate 1 with apertured end flange 2 to guide bolt 3, and with a rectangular opening 4 housing the operating lever and provided with end walls 5<a> and side walls 5. The bolt has a flat tail-piece 3<a> closing the bottom of the opening, and has lugs 6 projecting into, and slidable along, the opening 4 and provided with T-slots 7, 8. The lever 10 is pivoted between lugs 6 on a pin 9 carried by the walls 5 and passing through the longitudinal parts 7 of the slots, to guide the bolt, and has trunnions or rollers &c. 11 adapted to engage in the slot-part 8 to throw or retract the bolt. A spring 12 carried by the bolt bears against the lever as shown to retain the bolt in its extreme positions.
