Fastenings for windows.-Mechanism for opening, closing and securing casement and like hinged windows comprises in combination a screw a journaled in the fixed frame c, a nut f on the screw, a connection between the nut and the moving frame h, a spring blade j on the frame h, a fixed peg k on the frame c, and a lug m on the screw adapted to engage with the blade j. As the window is closed by means of the pulleys d and ropes e, the blade j rides over the peg k until a hole in the blade is engaged by the peg. On opening the window, the rotating screw a causes the lug m to lift the spring blade j from the peg.
