Abstract
498,769. Draught and gas excluders for doors and windows. RUDD, J. Jan. 5, 1938, No. 351. [Class 20 (iii)] A draught and gas excluding device for doors, windows and the like comprises a slidable strip of wood or the like covered on one side and edge with felt or resilient material and so guided as to be pressed against the door &c. when closed and against the frame by springs or other resilient means. One face of the strip may be tapered and engage inclined brackets 3b by a screw and slot, Fig. 2, or the strip may be in two parts 10, 12, having inclined meeting edges, as shown in Fig. 4. Sponge rubber or other resilient means may be used to press the strip against the door &c., or the strip may be mounted on two spring arms 17, Fig. 5, which are adapted to maintain the strip in contact with the frame and with the door &c. when closed.
