Abstract

629,902. Magnetrons. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Jan. 27, 1947, No. 2475. Convention date, Feb. 19, 1944. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XL (b)] A magnetron having a plurality of resonant cavities extending radially from a central cathode chamber, is tunable by a circumferentially movable ring 24 disposed in an annular groove 22 in the anode block 1, and having on its inner face a plurality of projections each extending into one of the resonant cavities by a variable amount depending upon the angular position of the ring. The ring 24 is actuated by a lever 26, pivoted at 27, and operable by means of the bellows 25 from outside the vacuum. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a magnetron which is tunable by a screw movable along one resonant cavity of a plurality of radial resonant cavities. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
