Abstract
626,255. Magnetrons. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS, Inc. Aug. 1, 1947, No. 21086. Convention date, June 12, 1943. [Class 39 (i)] A magnetron of the resonant cavity type has an anode strap 17 connecting alternate anode segments, the strap being deformable so that the cavities may be tuned by it to resonate at a particular frequency. The strap is preferably split at one point 19 to avoid the formation of an undesirable closed circuit through it. The cathode 2, Fig. 6, may be surrounded by a cylindrical control grid 27 to aid the current flow from the cathode, and the radial slots leading to the cavities may be extended by grids 26 to increase the reaction between the cavities and the electron stream. Specification 588,916 is referred to.
