Abstract
911,924. Magnetrons. LITTON INDUSTRIES Inc. Feb. 12, 1960 [June 8, 1959], No. 4998/60. Class 39 (1). In a multi-cavity magnetron of the vane-type, the vanes 16, Fig. 1, are folded e.g. by making them of generally Z-shape, as shown, so that at least two portions of each vane conduct current in opposite directions. The vanes are brazed to an outer anode ring 12. Tuning is by segments 20, one for each resonator, which give predominantly inductive tuning in their upper positions and predominantly capacitive tuning in their lower positions. The tuner has alignment rods 30 and support rods 28 fixed to bellows seat 40. Permanent magnet 26 has internal polepieces 27.
