Abstract

626,150. Thermal switches. KENT ALLOYS, Ltd., and YEOMANS, J. E. Feb. 17. 1947, No. 4529. [Class 38(v)] At a predetermined temperature in, for example, a convector-heater flue, a bimetal latch 1 releases a spring-plunger 5 to strike an extension 9 of the operating lever 8 of a snap-action tumbler 'switch, thereby deenergizing the heating elements 14. The plunger is reset by switching on " the switch, which may normally be operated independently of the trip mechanism. The temperature setting is varied by an adjusting screw 10 bearing on the bimetal strip.
