687,258. Thermal switches; switches, partly electromagnetic. RHEOSTATIC CO., Ltd., and CHINN, A. J. Oct. 18, 1951, No. 24354/51. Class 38 (v) The movable contact 16 of the switch is carried by a resilient member 7 which also carries a U-shaped armature 17 and is actuated by a bimetal strip 3 through an insulating member 21 and an adjustable screw 22. The contacts 16, 20 are normally held closed by the action of a magnet 18 on the upper limb of the armature, but on deflection of strip 3 they are opened with a snap-action and held open by the action of the magnet on the lower limb of the armature. The switch is reclosed by depression of a push-button 10.
