Abstract

662,000. Switches, partly electromagnetic. C.A.V., Ltd. May 18, 1950. [May 26, 1949] No. 14091/49. Class 38 (v). The movable contact i of a switch is mounted. on a bimetal strip h carried by an armature e which is loaded by a spring f and pivoted on a pole-piece c of an electromagnet b, the cooperating contact j being loaded by a spring k. The contacts are closed by depression of a push-button g, thereby energising the electromagnet which holds the contacts closed. On an overload, the bimetal strip, which is connected in series with the electromagnet and the contacts, deflects and opens the latter thereby de-energising the electromagnet. The contacts may, alternatively, be opened by depression of a push-button m.
