Abstract

871,499. Electromagnetic switches. C.A.V. Ltd. Oct. 8, 1957 [Oct. 22, 1956], No. 32056/56. Class 38 (5). The armature j of an electromagnetic switch is riveted at o to a snap-action blade spring m, Fig. 4, and has a forked end engaging the bladespring on each side of a cut-out portion. The switch frame b has two projections e, f with notches to receive the top edge of the cut-out portion and the end of a tongue n, respectively, so that the tongue is bowed, blade m and armature j are biased to the position shown where the blade engages the head s of an adjustable stop-screw r. The blade carries connected contacts p for bridging fixed contacts g, one at least of which is insulated from the frame b. On operation the end k of the armature is attracted to the core c and the other end of the armature bears on the part of the spring m on each side of the tongue n for snap-action closing of the contacts.
