Abstract
913,317. Electromagnetic switches. D.B.A. Dec. 15, 1960 [Jan. 29, 1960; June 27, 1960], No. 43262/60. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXV] A combined electromagnetic switch and current regulator for use with a voltage regu- lator has switching contacts controlled by the armature movement and current regulating contacts controlled by a second armature movable in an opening in the first armature and mounted on a resilient strip attached to the first armature. As shown, a switch having concentric current and voltage coils on a core 1 and an armature 5 adjustably biased by a spring (not shown), has a contact 8 carried by the armature 5 and co-operating with a fixed contact 9 on a plate 10 secured to and insulated from a bracket 12. Rivets 16 secure the armature 5 to a resilient blade 17 with an insulating plate 22 between them. The blade 17 has secured thereto a second armature 19, freely movable in an opening 5a in the first armature, and contact 18 which co-operates with a fixed contact 14 on a plate 13 which is also mounted on and insulated from the bracket 12. Normally, closed contacts may replace the contacts 14, 18.
