845,954. Thermal switches. BRANDL, W. Nov. 4, 1958 [Nov. 4, 1957], No. 35347/58. Class 38 (5). A thermostat operated by bellows 3 has a spring blade 7 which carries a bolt 20 to the left on expansion of the bellows to open microswitch 22. If the switch remains closed further expansion of the bellows brings bolt 20 against a compensating spring 16 which provides a uniform resistance irrespective of the operating temperature set by knob 11. When this resistance is overcome contacts 24, 25 short out the heater 30 or operate a circuit breaker. Specification 817,214 is referred to.
